Mike Chapple

Mike Chapple was working with computers and using the Internet long before URLs started appearing on television. He enjoys helping computer users customize the perfect machine for their needs. He currently serves as Chief Information Officer of the Brand Institute, a Miami-based marketing consultancy. Prior to joining the Brand Institute, Mike was an information security researcher with the U.S. National Security Agency and an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force. Mike has written the CISSP Study Guide (Sybex), the SANS GSEC Prep Guide (John Wiley), the TruSecure TICSA Training Guide (New Riders), and Introduction to Information Security (Jones and Bartlett). He is a technical editor for Information Security magazine and a frequent contributor to the About.com Databases site and SearchSecurity.com. Mike holds a BS in computer science from the University of Notre Dame, an MS in computer science with an emphasis in secure and trusted systems from the University of Idaho, and an MBA from Auburn University.
